Ford EVs: Range

EV Facts

Do you still want more EV facts? These fascinating tidbits will help you see how much an investment in these cars can help you have a better driving experience.

Some American-made EVs are eligible for up to $7,500 in incentives. According to Consumer Reports, starting in 2024 and going through 2032, anyone who purchases an EV will get $7,500 off at the time of purchase.

In 2018, charging an EV costs an average of $485 a year versus paying $1,117 for gasoline. Drivers could spend as much as 60% less to charge a Ford EV versus filling up a gas tank, notes the National Resources Defense Council.

Another EV fact: It costs less to maintain them because they have fewer moving parts than gasoline-powered vehicles. AAA notes that maintaining an EV costs $330 less per year than a gasoline-powered car.

Ford EV Plant in Kentucky

In 2021, Ford pledged to invest $50 billion worldwide through 2026 to help usher in more EVs. Part of that investment includes a Ford EV plant in nearby Glendale, Kentucky. Called the BlueOval SK Battery Park, the plant can revolutionize EV batteries by making them less expensive and more reliable than they already are. The Ford EV plant in Kentucky is slated to open in 2025, with another one for Tennessee also going up. The Kentucky plant could hire 5,000 people to work there. Bob Swope Ford is proud to be located so close to the Ford EV Plant and sell the vehicles they produce!
